The best spot in Olive Park

On the island of Shodoshima, which is located in the Kagawa prefecture, Japan, one of the most popular places to visit is Olive Park.

The Shodoshima Olive Park is a must-see for olive fans, and it offers a pleasant walk through the olive trees with views of Japan’s gorgeous Seto Inland Sea. In addition, the park has a Greek-style windmill that overlooks the ocean and the park and is a popular photographic location.

The Greek windmill and the Fureai Hiroba, with its old-style Greek buildings, are two icons of Shodoshima’s relationship with its Greek sister city, Miros.

There are many photo spots here, but the best one is under the windmill. With the background of the sea and blue sky in front, olive trees on the right and left, and windmills behind, this location makes the best photo spot.
Pretending to fly using a broom, just like the scenes in the movies from the classic Ghibli animated film “Kiki’s Delivery Service."
But, it wasn’t easy 😊
Many photoshoots failed even though we had jumped many times
We still couldn’t get the flying scene!

The photo merely shows one foot kicking while the other remains on the ground. Perhaps there’s a scene in which we’re poised to fly but instead appear to be sinking.

Finally, we have one photo that isn’t very excellent, but because it’s so far away from home, it feels extra special:-D

By the way, we don’t need to bring the broom from home because we can borrow it for free.

Look at those pictures above ..They really can fly !:-D

The second spot I like is the open book with a big tree next to it.

There is a brief explanation about this park

My second favorite spot

The island’s climate is typical of the Mediterranean region, making it an ideal environment for the growth of olive trees. As a result, the island is home to thousands of olive trees.

Since that time, the island has become one of the leading producers of olives in Japan, which has led to Shodoshima being given the nickname “Olive Island.”

Shima is the Japanese word for island. As a result, the Olive Park is located on an island (Shodoshima) and can only be reached by ferry from Takamatsu Port, which provides connections to Kusakabe Port and Ikeda Port, the two closest ferry terminals.

Takamatsu Port

It had been a long time since I had crossed the ferry, so it was fantastic.
We took an hour to get from Takamatsu (the capital city of Kagawa Prefecture) to this island. The boat was also nice.

The atmosphere inside the ferry. It was clean and nice..

The expansive region of this park, which encompasses 80,000 m2, is surrounded by nearly 2,000 olive trees. Shodoshima’s first olive trees were planted in 1908, and the island has been famed for its olive output ever since.

It is said that the oldest olive tree in Japan was planted here, and traces of it still exist. There is a tree that is protected by a fence in this park. Considering that this plant was planted since 1908, it means that the age of this tree is more than 100 years old. Amazing, isn’t it?

Olive fruit

In the end of this trip, because we’re exhausted of jumping, we finish the day by eating and drinking olive-based products. Of course, there is an abundance of olive oil at the store. But, we can also find cookies, chocolate, chips and even ice cream that added to this oil.

Some items with olive-based products

So, when are you coming here?
Learn to fly, shoot a lot of photos and eat-drink yummi things in the end of the trip !😊
